Le travail de Mai Khanh Pham To prend place dans l'immensité intime, espace ouvert par Gaston Bachelard où l'intime devient immense, où la rêverie est approfondissement. Peinture, poème et broderie y habitent non comme des médiums distincts mais comme les fils d'une même trame, chacun révélant ce que l'autre ne peut donner entièrement.
Comme chez Etel Adnan, l'image et le mot ne se traduisent pas : ils creusent ensemble une vérité que ni l'un ni l'autre n'atteindrait seul.
Painting, poetry and embroidery operate not as distinct mediums but as strata of a single excavation — each revealing what the other cannot name, each forcing the other to reopen.

Artist statement
Peinture, poème et broderie n'opèrent pas ici comme des médiums distincts, ni comme les composantes d'une œuvre totale. Ils opèrent par tension : la peinture révèle ce que le poème ne peut pas nommer, la broderie donne corps aux mots, le poème excède l'image et l'oblige à se rouvrir. C'est dans cet espace de tension, jamais de synthèse, que l'œuvre se constitue et demeure toujours ouverte.
Painting, poetry and embroidery do not function as additive mediums. They operate through friction, each revealing what the other cannot name, each forcing the other to reopen. It is in this space of tension, never of synthesis, that the work takes form and remains always open.
